first off: THANK YOU, SECRET SANTA! Whoever you are. I got the package yesterday, and I appreciate it. :)

Second: I went to David's Bridal today, because they've gotten in their shipment of prom dresses, and I want to start checking out dresses as soon as I can. I found one dress that was especially pretty. I called it the "Satine dress" because it's the same beautiful crimson that Satine's "Smoldering Temptress" dress is in Moulin Rouge. So it's that gorgeous red (the tag said "apple"), but it had the shape of Audrey Hepburn's dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's--only it was almost floor length. It was gorgeous. I want a blue dress, though. But that red one was pretty. Really pretty.

Third: David's Bridal is positively evil, though. They have no mirrors in the dressing rooms, and that means that you have to walk out in front of God and everybody--the whole store, really, but I am prone to exaggeration--just to see how you look. This is bad when you've slacked in the body hair trimming department and you're wearing a sleeveless dress, and when the dress you're trying on has a stubborn zipper and your bra is totally exposed in the back. So I had to go look at myself in the mirror OUTSIDE the dressing room, worried that I'd have to do something that required me to lift my arms up--and I did NOT feel like exposing my hairy armpits to the store--and I felt like a world-class GOOBER because I couldn't get the damn zipper up. And YES. Things like this ALWAYS happen to me. [/sarcasm] That mirror thing is truly evil. Whoever came up with that idea should be dragged into a street and shot.

Fourth: I ordered some stuff from the Alloy sales catalog--a pair of jeans, a long-sleeved shirt, and a pair of shoes.

Fifth: I really love huge, sweeping, sing-with-every-fiber-of-your-being ballads. I prefer ballads to uptempos about 4/5ths of the time. I listen to ballads when I'm happy; I listen to them when I'm sad. I love singers who can do ballads, explaining my whole adulation of Mariah Carey. Most of my favorite songs are ballads. I prefer singing ballads because they're so easy when you have to sing it. Singing a slower tempoed love song means you can just be there, or sitting in a chair or something, and you have no obligations. You don't have to dance; you don't have to move around; you're just there. And I like that. Does that mean there's something wrong with me?

Sixth: that's it. Good night.
