Well, I have an upper respiratory infection. I found this out after being in the waiting room at the clinic for more than three hours. My brother is almost over his, but I'm still fairly out of commission. I hate missing days of school because I hate making up the work and junk. But mostly I hate that my nose is clogged and I feel like something's in my ears. Oh yes, and the body aches and the neverending headache. And the fact that I need to eat something so I can take my antibiotics, but there is NOTHING I WANT TO EAT.

I got my yearbook yesterday! [cheers] I think I'll have pictures of it later. Very exciting. I have seventy-three pictures in there. The only bad thing is that my best picture from last year (the one of the pie-throwing booth) is in the back of the book and it's SMALL. I LOVE that picture. [sniffs] And, as I predicted, I pretty much own a few spreads. Yeah. It was weird, though, going to school to get it. I kept seeing all these freshmen and I was like, "They're so small." It's like when you're in elementary school and you go back to your old classes to see a teacher, and you look around and it's like the desks are smaller, and everything seems smaller. It feels like whatever happened there happened a long time ago. Very weird.

I didn't get to sleep until sometime before 2 A.M. because I kept getting cold and hot and I couldn't stop coughing. Mom came in and sat with me for awhile, and she kept making me laugh. That's not cool, because I kept cough-laughing. She said she was going to give me cough syrup, but I hate cough syrup and begged her not to: "I'm miserable enough right now. Just let me cough." She did give me some honey/lemon concoction that tasted like warm lemonade, though. Much better. Stopped the coughing. I still didn't sleep well, though. I woke up around 5 to them talking about a possible-reinstatement of the draft on the early morning news, and that kept me up 'til 5:30. And so on and so forth.

When I think about it, this is not the first time I've gotten sick near the beginning of the year. Sophomore year I got that weird bug that kept me out for a week. Ugh.
