I fully intended to do the... three week music meme that I started, but somehow forgot about. Whoops. Let's just pick that up another time.
But in the meantime, I do have five songs to share.
1. Kiss on My List, Hall and Oates
I have loved this song since I was about six years old. There was this video I remember that we rented once, and it was called something like DTV. The concept behind it was taking random songs and playing them over clips of various Disney movies and shorts--kind of like fanvids, in a way. I remember this one in particular because it had lots of clips from a Chip and Dale short where they both are crushing on the same girl chipmunk who's a nightclub singer. It's one of my go-to happy songs, one that's guaranteed to always make me feel better.
2. I Want You So Bad I Can't Breathe, OK Go
I got hopelessly hooked on Of the Blue Colour of the Sky (the album that this song comes from) and besides "This Too Shall Pass" and "White Knuckles", "I Want You So Bad I Can't Breathe" is my favorite song from the album. It sounds kind of like... something else I've heard before but can't put my finger on what. But anyway: I want you so bad I can't think straight, so bad all my bones shake, so bad I can't breathe. Who hasn't felt like that a little before?
3. King of Anything, Sara Bareilles
Her new single! I am so excited for her new album, guys. Little Voice has been in my car on and off for the past two years, no lie.
4. June, Tyler Hilton
I have my IJ people to blame for suddenly being like, "Oh, that guy who did the cover of 'Missing You' and was in Charlie Bartlett" about Tyler Hilton to, well, really kind of liking his music. I think this is my favorite song of his so far. Also, earlier this month he did this secret show at a bakery in Dallas and I, er, tried to skip class to go (it was at 10 AM) but I got lost and therefore missed it. Boo, hiss.
5. Only the Good Die Young, Billy Joel
I doubt that I'd ever change my journal name; I'm far too attached to it and as nonsensical as it is, it works. (Plus, I have other supersyncspaz7 accounts and I like consistency in them) But if I had to (and if it were available on LJ), I would change it to
brandnewsoul because of this song. There's a line from it that's like, "You got a nice white dress and a party on your confirmation/You got a brand new soul and a cross of gold", and I've always liked it for some reason. Barring that, it's the name of my icon/picspam/miscellaneous other geeky stuff community (
brandnew_soul) and I changed my Tumblr's title to that from a world of pure imagination. Plus: ear worm. Major, major ear worm.
