I don't even know any more.
Jul. 18th, 2010 10:42 pmCrazy day was crazy.
Before I went to work today, I stopped at Pinkberry to get frozen yogurt. There's a counter where you place your order, and facing the counter are about three circular tables with chairs so that customers can sit and eat their chilled confections. At the table behind me sat two men and a woman, and as I was waiting for the server at the counter to finish putting granola on my pomegranate/mango, one of the men at the table all but leaps over it and starts punching the other guy.
I was so freaked out at first that I couldn't really move or do anything. The woman was screaming at the guy who was doing all the punching to stop. Customers were fleeing to corners and back toward the restrooms, and I turned just as the dude delivering the beatdown picked up a chair. I was honestly half horrified and half ready to burst into laughter, because my first thought was who does that, besides guys in the WWF? I don't even think they do that anymore!
Eventually it all stopped and the guy doing the fighting fled the scene. The Pinkberry employees called the police, and I went and got my order, all while everyone else was still standing around, completely shaken. It was just... weird. The last place I'd have ever expected for something like that to go down would be Pinkberry.
On top of that, there was a freak storm that came through and I left my car windows cracked and it was pouring so hard that I couldn't even go out to put them back up. (My umbrella was in the car, too.) Fun, sitting on a wet car seat. So much fun.
