Two music things I've found via Tumblr over the past day or so:
Telephone Spice, a mash-up featuring Lady Gaga and Beyonce's "Telephone" and "Spice Up Your Life" from the Spice Girls. Oh. My. Gosh.
The Rescues' cover of "Teenage Dream" by Katy Perry. I have a confession to make: I kind of love the original version of that song. I don't even know how to explain why. The lyrics are fun but I always feel kind of icky for enjoying the song because I'm not all that fond of Katy Perry. But this version is just sublime and makes the song less poppy and a little bit poignant. Also, it will be available for download on iTunes and at Amazon Marketplace on Tuesday, yay.
In other news: I survived driving on Central Expressway by myself today. This is a big deal because I still get nervous sometimes on the highway, especially when I'm going places I haven't been before. I had the GPS on but even with that, Central Expressway goes near downtown Dallas and it's a major freeway and that means lots of people, some of whom drive like maniacs and that makes me super tense. The fact that I got to where I wanted to go and got back home with little drama makes me feel good and kind of like a massive dork.
Since the Rangers are going to the World Series, here's to hoping my work hours pick up a little.
