Nov. 14th, 2010 10:37 pmSo I am kind of behind in NaNo, but because I have decided that I am NOT going to lose this year and keep up my streak of not finishing in even-numbered years so I'm not throwing in the towel yet.
The problem is this: on the way home from work I started listening to "Just the Way You Are" and I remembered reading somewhere that Billy Joel actually hates that song and doesn't like performing it, and there's other artists who hate some of their big hit songs (the other one that immediately comes to mind for me is that Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders hates "Brass in Pocket"), and for some reason I got the most random plot idea. Say you have an established artist who always gets asked to play this One Big Hit of theirs and they hate it for some reason, and then somehow they encounter some younger person who adores that song and says that it's the reason why they want to make music and eventually they come to like their song again. I know it's corny, but ugh, now I want to write this so bad.
