how do you numb your skin after the warmest touch?

I really shouldn't feel like this. How can I feel so depsondent after kindness? How can I possibly even want to feel like this? He let me down gently--if it was, indeed a letdown; oh, and it seemed like it--and I should be grateful for that much.

But I'm not. I just feel slightly embarrassed and disappointed, even though my expectations were much lower than this.

Oh well, I'll elaborate later.
