Sometimes, I like to imagine that I'm famous... famous enough to record my own cover album. If I find the karaoke versions of all these songs, and I get a free weekend, I'll end up doing just that.

Today after school was the class meeting in which the prom theme song would be picked. I couldn't go, and now I'm a little bit upset, because I don't know if this means we'll end up with a really bad prom theme. Jessica, one of Nicole's friends, suggested that "Yeah" by Usher be the theme... um. No? This makes me wish that "Always and Forever" had been our theme--perfect theme song, even if it seemed a little bit cliche. (and if they picked the right VERSION--it's by Heatwave, NOT Luther! The original's best! So ends my psycho tirade.) It would be cool if they'd picked a groovy older song, like "Unchained Melody", "Time of My Life" from Dirty Dancing, or "At Last"... but knowing my classmates, they probably picked something like... oh heck, "Crazy in Love".

So, in honor of that, I think I'll end up making my "Perfect Prom Mix". Not that it'd get played, but...

My prom theme was "Satellite" by DMB... it was very, very cliche but this was in 1996-1997, when EVERYONE was all about Dave...

Our theme was masquerade (creative, no?) complete with masks and mardi gras beads. And our song was "Time of Your Life (Good Riddance)" by Green Day...even more creative. ;) Still loved it though!

As far as I can remember we didn't have a theme song for our prom. The senior class has a class song but no prom theme.

But then again, I did graduate in 1998.

Keep in mind, though, that I'm old and I graduated in 1994. That was the hot new thing back then. *g*

LOL, I dont think we had one. I went to a private school where they had just barely turned the prom into a "dance" (ballroom/swing ONLY), so we weren't that advanced yet XD

my date/boyfriend of now over a year, konvi had told my friend shannonleeroth that he'd have the next slow dance with her.

but then, this song came on, and it was all us.
this song that it seems both my boyfriend and i had already associated with each other... because we then joined hands and made our way to the dance floor...
we quitely sang the song to each other as we danced, he in a sort of whisper, me in a sort of sobbing-voice, seeing as i was crying (in a joyous manner).

the words just fit so perfectly... i'd been feeling so wonderful all night.
it was almost unbelievable. i dont know if you know much about my past, despite being one of my oldest LJ friends, but i used to be one of those girls that nobody liked. i'd gone thru a lot.
and then i found myself surrounded by people who actually loved and cared for me.... it's still the best night of my life. ever.

oh god i'm getting all misty-eyed.
prom was the most wonderful thing i'd ever experienced.
