Okay, I think I have a new favorite Simpsons episode. Maybe not a favorite, but one in my top ten. It's the one where Homer gets drunk at the chili festival, even though he promised Marge he wouldn't drink and he starts hallucinating and stuff. While he's out of it, Homer sees this wolf spirit guide that tells him about soulmates and stuff. When he wakes up and goes home, Marge is still mad at him and then he wonders if she's really his soulmate and ends up running off to the lighthouse and Marge finds him in the end. It's really cute.

There's now 33 people (not counting me, twice) watching [livejournal.com profile] randomfangirl. When did that happen? And how can I get MOOOORE? [/greed]

I was watching Oprah earlier--the one with people in debt? Well, there was this family on there, and the mom had written a letter about teaching her kids the value of a dollar. The daughter had a HUGE closet full of tons of clothes, had multiple designer bags, and a baby blue VW Bug convertible--her second, as she crashed the other one. And she wanted a Cartier watch like her mom's, so much so that she was even borrowing her mom's watch. Both the son and daughter had credit cards, and the youngest (the boy) was like... sixteenish. And the financial planner and stuff was telling the parents what they should do and that while their kids were "good" they were freakin' spoiled, the mom kept objecting with, "But they're good kids!"

...Oh my God.

I'll admit I'm kind of spoiled. I was the most spoiled little kid ever (I had TWO dollhouses when I was little--WHAT SIX YEAR OLD NEEDS TWO DOLLHOUSES ACK), and I'm even a bit spoiled now. But my parents buying me a car like a VW Bug after CRASHING the first one? Multiple Louis Viutton bags? A CREDIT CARD of my OWN while I'm in high school? Are you serious? [sighs] I mean, I like reading about super-loaded kids and stuff, but to see it in real life kind of disgusts me a little. And I mean, I know my family has SOME money, but since... God, I was like twelve or so, I've tried not to ask for everything because we AREN'T that well off, you know? Which explains why I have a used laptop instead of a brand-spankin' new one, because while it was a gift, I don't absolutely HAVE to have something top of the line. I'd rather wait a few years to have something like that, when I buy it myself.

Ever since I got my laptop, I've started playing spider solitaire again. Oh, good grief. My statistics on two suits are pathetic.

So I take it you'll be watching the new show "Daddy's Spoiled Little Girl" on the WE channel? Just saw an ad for it today. I don't get that station, but don't know if I could stand to watch. I was spoiled too (only child), but my mom knew when to say no. I remember watching I Luv the 70's & 80's & realizing all the cool toys I wanted but never got. I was spoiled, but not rotten. :D

What I love best about that episode is that the coyote is voiced by JOHNNY CASH. I mean, if Johnny Cash believes in Homer & Marge's love, who are we to argue?!?!

Dude. Now I have to go watch that episode. I'm sure it must be on one of the ten Simpsons tapes I have....*g*

Oh, I LOVE that episode of The Simpsons. It's one of the few where I actually find myself liking Homer (a rare occurrence, I assure you *g*).

Johnny Cash as the coyote? Okay, that adds to the awesomeness.

haha. I am (was, rather, before ruining my relationship with my father ) SPOILED in high school.
I had my own debit card which was always filled, and I got a car on my sixteenth birthday and a newer one on my seventeenth.

My father grew up very very poor and he now makes around $85 an hour. He is very proud of where he is today and his main goal was that I never live in the kind of poverty he did, but he kind of overdid it a bit.
