damn, I lost my number and I lost my head.
Jun. 5th, 2008 10:57 pmEveryone has those odd little patterns they fall into, right? One of mine is having summer obsessions--things that I end up liking and they inadvertently end up taking over my summers. It's weird, but it just kind of happens.
I think my first thing like that was writing a book, or attempting to write one. I was about seven or eight the first time I tried this. I'd write for about two weeks before eventually abandoning whatever it was. Then I started listening to music, so I spent one summer watching Pop Up Video whenever it'd come on VH1, and that included me pretty much refusing to move when they ran a marathon one day. Then came the Backstreet Boys/*NSYNC years, so summer meant watching TRL and reading really bad fan fiction (and, yes, even writing some of it--like the one about various members of both groups being vampires and slayers, and me being one of the love interests. Basically, if Twilight had come out in 2000, I would've loved the hell out of that book).
Then in 2002, after watching the first Spider-Man movie, I was kind of crazy over Tobey Maguire, and in '04 I was all about Jake Gyllenhaal and the Olympics. Three years ago, it was Lost (lots of time was spent coming up with theories, rewatching the finale on video, playing a redshirt in a RP based on the show, and reading an absurd amount of fan fiction). Two years ago, it was Supernatural (which resulted in me mainlining the series in about a month and reading lots of fan fiction--notice a pattern here?) and RP, and last summer it was mostly POTC.
I wonder what that says about me.
I also wonder what my taste in men says about me. And the music that is currently on my Zune. I am weird and have, on multiple occasions, attempted to find correlations between the menfolk, but everything I've come up with is inconclusive. As for the music, well... I have a thing for catchy hooks, and pretty lyrics. I think that's all I got as far as that goes.
