Minor gripe: lately, every time I think of capping something for
film_stills, someone else does it. I started doing Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and then the next day, someone had posted their stills. The other night, I was capping Enchanted (and enjoying getting the perfect shots of Amy Adams making the funniest/most perfect facial expressions ever), and someone's already capped it. There's no official rule on multiple postings of your own stills from the same movie, but it's nice to know that you're the first sometimes, you know? [/gripe]
In honor of its 1000th issue, Entertainment Weekly did the EW 1000, a list containing New Classics, or: The Best Stuff of the Past 25 Years. I was leafing through it and trying to keep track of what I have/haven't seen/read. Here's my breakdown:
Out of the movies, I have seen 20/100 (and out of the 80 I have not seen, I want to see 36),
Out of the TV shows, I have seen more than five episodes of 41/100 shows,
In the music section, I can name at least one song from 48/100 of the albums listed (and I own hard copies of a grand total of about... 3 of them),
Out of the books, I have read 5/100 (but I want to read 20 of the 95 I have not read),
and out of the video games, I have played 9/50.
You know what? After looking at that and watching part of AFI's 10 Best Movies from 10 Random Genres, I think that someone needs to compile a list of underrated things. I'd start with underrated movies, as a few of my favorites are severely underrated. Which may or may not be because I have questionable taste in movies, but hey.
(Hee, I love that in New Classic Romantic Gestures, they mention the Beast giving Belle the library.)
Get Smart was fun, by the way. Go see it!
Finally: after seeing the trailer at no less than five of the movies I've seen recently in a theater and reading up about all the stuff with the ARG that's promoting it, I must say that I can't friggin' wait for The Dark Knight to FINALLY FREAKIN' COME OUT. IT JUST HAS TO BE AWESOME. Plus, it feels like it's still not coming out for eons.
