I have never had a freezer with a light in it, and I didn't know that they made them! I also learned today that the sound you hear when you hear waves in a seashell is the sound of your blood circulating through your ears.

I've seen lights in freezers where whole thing is split in two vertically instead of 1/3-2/3 horizontally.

My best guess is that the top part is close enough to the ceiling light to see, as well as being closer to eye level so that you can focus better. Our light went out in the refrigerator part, and it was ridiculously difficult to find anything in there until we got it fixed. (Trying to see if there were eggs on the bottom shelf when the one above it was completely packed? Not easy.)

I'm going to say that it would have to do with the glass required of a light bulb. The glass would have to be able to withstand the heat of the light from within and the cold from the freezer and not shatter. That's why it's newer, more expensive models what have them installed. It's like getting a 6-disc CD changer in your car vs. the AM/FM Cassette that came with it.

My family has notoriously bad luck with refrigerators. We generally end up with a new one once every 5 years or so. For example, right now we can't use the ice from our ice maker because the new water line makes it taste funny... because the old water line popped a leak and put about half an inch of water on the brand new kitchen floor. Nice, right?

Also, the sky is blue because of the reflection of the ocean water. Did I just blow your mind? lol

I'm so confused now as to wther or not my freezer has a light. I know some have one, and I could swear that mine does. I'm too lazy to go check, but I recall thinking last week that it's odd that there's no light in there anymore. I'm confuzzled, for realz.
