Thing I Hate, #1224: When you find out what you're getting for Christmas before Christmas. Maybe I'm just kind of a traditionalist, but isn't the point of getting a gift not knowing what the hell it is before you open it?

This message has been brought to you by my brother via my mom, neither of whom seem to remember why surprises are good. I'm happy with the present, but still, it's the principle of the thing.

See, I don't love surprise gifts, so I'm just the opposite. Mostly because I'm hard to buy for. My family stopped being surprised years ago. Well, super surprised, anyway. I usually give my mom options and she goes from there.

Normally I would say I'm the opposite, but now that I've gotten older I don't want to know OMG RIGHT NOW. For me, it's kind of like, the magic is gone from Christmas so I want to be surprised... Does that make sense? I'm kind of tired, lol.
