There are many things that annoy me about my job, but I've rarely ever mentioned one of the things that has, lately, started to irritate the hell out of me: customers who hit on me.
The first customer that I helped today offered to take me out to lunch if I helped him. Insert me laughing nervously. Then he asked me how old I am. I am always really damn bad when this happens--I lie about so many other things, but I am nearly incapable of lying about my age; I don't know why. And as he was leaving, he asked me if I thought he was attractive, and he asked me if I had a boyfriend. I just. I don't know what to do when this happens. It's different from drive-by hit-ons that occur at Wal-Mart, but I don't know how to react. Kicking him wouldn't have been appropriate. What should I do if this happens again?
All of my Christmas shopping's done, except now I'm broke. Sad face!
