Right now we're baking a cake, so I can't dig through the debris on my bed and call it a night just yet. Instead, I have something of a photo share. Ever since I got my new phone in August, I've been doing what the rest of the world's been doing since, what, 2009 or so: taking pictures of neat things on the fly and uploading them to Twitter.
Here's some from the past few weeks, plus a few from December.
I was rooting through my memory box on Monday, and found the ID from the school that I went to before I moved down here. I'm thirteen in that picture, and wearing a powder blue and white baseball tee with a star on the front that I got from Girlfriends LA. (I lost it the other night when I found that link.)
At the time, I hated that picture, mostly because I had forgotten that it was picture day and I thought that I looked awful in it. Now, I'm marveling at my hair, because a few months after we moved to Texas, I ended up having to cut about six to eight inches off because of really bad breakage and split ends. My hair has not been able to grow that long since.
I ordered a Peanuts Moleskine box, and inside are six of the cardboard journals--three black and three kraft, each with a different character on them--and a set of stickers and postcards.
On New Year's, I went to NYE in Big D, which is Dallas's New Year's party/fireworks show with my friend Theresa and Jason, her boyfriend. I'd never done anything party-esque on NYE before, so I was pretty psyched. It was fun! Cold, but fun! I almost had a crowd surfer fall on my head, but other than that, it was awesome. I even didn't mind the fireworks, and usually I hate watching fireworks in person. I get super-jumpy with the sudden explosions; it's a paranoia type thing. Anyway, so that happened! And as we were leaving downtown, we saw someone who had run out of gas having their car pushed. Poor driver.
Mom was doing a big cleaning job in her room, and ended up finding the first cell phones she and my dad got when we moved down here. Twelve years later, I use a cell phone to take a picture of another cell phone. It's still crazy to think that we're able to do that, you know?
And now it's almost time to prep the frosting for the cake. :D
