This is the only time I will ever, ever post anything like this in this journal.

Craig Manning is Love <3.

Craig Manning is Love <3.

Anyway. Why do people seem to think that "ho", when meant as an insult, is spelled like "hoe", the gardening tool? If I ever went into a bathroom stall and saw "Candice [last name] is a hoe!", I'd find it amusing. If you're being called a gardening tool, that's funny! I wrote "hoe is a gardening tool!" next to someone who'd written "Cortney Duarte is a hoe!". Um, okay, show half the population of the school how ignorant you are anonymously.

That gets on my nerves. As does the confusion of "you're" and "your". Someone found my journal last year in French, and after a certain entry, they wrote "your gay" in pencil. Um, hello? In saying that, you just wrote a sentence fragement. My gay WHAT? If you wanted to insult me, you'd have written "You're gay."

I hate that so many people I know say "you know what I'm sayin'?" after everything; except they run it together so it sounds like, "youknowwhatimsayin?"

And my brother says I'm being "scary" when I'm afraid of something. You know the world's going to gramatical hell when people PURPOSELY use the wrong word and the wrong part of speech to describe something.

I hate that people who I know in real-life who are articulate and smart type so horribly in their online journals. They write entries that read like this: we lyke, went to the mall this weeknd, and we went ice-sk8ng. i had such an awsome time w/ every1 n i can't wait 2 see ya in school on monday!!!! rock on!!! It's disheartening.

And I still am not over the fact that a SOPHOMORE asked someone in the library if fiction was "real or imaginary." You're a SOPHOMRE in HIGH SCHOOL. THIRD graders ask questions like that.

I'm not professing that I'm perfect; really. I've been trying to cure myself of saying "like" so much ever since my sixth grade relgion teacher mocked all of us for saying it all the time. But really... some stuff is common sense. We're supposed to be such a bright generation and all of that, but not knowing simple grammar and not wanting to type things out kind of, I don't know, makes us seem a bit dumb.

Maybe it's because I went to that Catholic school, where our schoolwork was two grades ahead of what I do now. Maybe it's because the school system here isn't exactly great. (I've heard the Texas school system isn't that well.) I don't know. But it's just pretty sad to me that there's people graduating from high school, some in HONORS classes, no less, and they don't know some basic common sense stuff.

I didn't mean for the bulk of this post to be a gripe. Really, I didn't. But how come people can't THINK?

Ahahaha. I LOVED this post! Seriously! I am a grammar FREAK! Like, I make some mistakes myself, I'm nowhere near perfect. But like you said, a lot of it is just common SENSE! That people seem to lack! Or in some cases it's not even so much that they don't *know* what they're doing, they just CHOOSE to sound stupid!

*HUGS*! You rock!

I am so like you in this way. Improper grammar and spelling bugs me to death. My one friend always messes up the use of apostrophes, like where people write words as if they are possessive when they're meant to be just plural. For example, instead of writing "There are birds flying in the sky" she would write "There are bird's flying in the sky". Ugh!!!! It's like a splinter in my toe....total #1 pet peeve. lol.

ah. I hate all those stupid grammatical errors people make. But I am guilty of the 'ho' and 'hoe' thing. 'Ho' just looks funny to me. Plus, at the place where I horseback ride, we say 'ho' to the horses so they know to slow down and they spell it 'ho,' so I find it a little weird to spell the offensive 'ho' in that form. I just wrote you a totally pointless comment haha. :)
