in a blind state of panic

Okay, so I'm finishing the final draft of my big book review for my English class, and I have my diskette with a previous draft on it. Well, we had peer review last time, and I had printed a copy that a girl in my class, TJ, wrote comments on about what I should/shouldn't change and so on. Well, in my haste, I didn't check my binder before leaving, and I don't have the paper copy of that friggin' draft.

This has never happened to me. I'm thisclose to panicking and not going to class. I have NEVER forgotten a draft. I'm going to seriously write the paper, but what should I do about the draft? Print another copy of the first one and turn that in? Explain to my instructor? I can't go back to the house and get it because I live thirty minutes away from campus, and I caught a ride with my mom.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME.

Print out a copy of the draft. If you can remember what the girl wrote on your draft before I would try and re-write it or something. If that wouldn't work then just tell your teacher what happened. They can be very understanding. Just two weeks ago I lost my 8 page art history paper and I called my teacher to explain what happened and she gave me another week to do it without taking any points off. Maybe if you explain to him what's going on he'll be equally as pleasant to deal with. DO NOT PANIC! IF YOU PANIC ALL IS LOST!

I agree. Be upfront and tell your prof what happened. Can you bring it to him/her later today or tomorrow? If you're willing to go the extra mile to bring in the missing paper/assignment profs can be very cool. You'll probably just be told to bring it to the next class. Trust me, you're probably not the only one who won't have a draft to hand in. Just be nice, be honest and to repeat what kpuchon said DO NOT PANIC! IF YOU PANIC ALL IS LOST!
