I still [heart] the '90s.
Jan. 17th, 2005 12:59 pmMy eyes are currently very twitchy. I think I was going through this same phenomenon last year about this time. Ha.
So I saw I Love the '90s: Part Deux: 1991 this morning. After I Love the '80s Strikes Back, Michael Ian Black lost the funny. In the original ILt90s, he just seemed peeved. Not to mention that during the entire Backstreet Boys commentary he had this horrible expression on his face. He looked like he had gas. He was totally off in the episode I saw. I'm one of the approximately two people who thinks that Loni Love has her funny moments, but crikey, she was bad. Hal was still quite funny (and he has PURPLE streaks in his hair!), but he got rid of the black leather jacket he wore through many of his segments. I love that jacket. [sniffs] I still love Godfrey and Rachael Harris and Carlos Alazaquari. And I totally squealed aloud when I saw Aaron Piersol (my other Olympic swimmer crush) on the ep somewhere. He is adorrrrable. Can't wait to actually catch both 1990 and 1991 tonight. Still bitter I couldn't be on there. Still hoping that they mention Super Soakers and how a black guy invented them.
Even though I haven't friended
cleolinda, I do lurk, and I thought that this comment of hers about the Great LJ Blackout is how a lot of us may have felt. It's definately how I felt:
I'll tell you what I really missed about Livejournal--it wasn't my own journal at all. Honestly, all I did was work yesterday, and I didn't have a damn thing to say anyway. What I missed were my constant friends-list hits of music recs, celebrity gossip, movie trailers, hot actor picspam, political news, fresh-baked icons, RSS feeds, and bloggers who can actually spell. My friends list is basically a microcosm of everything I like on the internet fed onto a single page--no wonder I'm addicted to it. The people on other sites who've been making fun of emo teenies wailing for their lost journals all weekend--well, let me put it this way: if you think Livejournal is nothing but a bunch of middle-schoolers posting bad poetry about their latest experiments in cutting, maybe that's because you don't know anyone cool.
And MTV2 is currently playing the "Whooha" video. Dude, that is so '90s.
