Good Lord, Alfalfa, is that you?!
It's like, super-weird to have my dad loading music I downloaded onto his Palm. It's all old stuff--Etta James and The Temptations and Patsy Cline--but still, it's kinda weird.
So I got surprised today: for gym, I had to get my blood pressure taken and get myself weighed. For like, three months I've been convinced that somehow I gained thirty pounds and that I was in dire need of some major intervention. According to the scale at school, I weigh what I weighed a year ago. And that's ten pounds heavier than the target weight for my height and build. Weh? The most pleasant surprise was that my blood pressure's in the good range: 113/79, I believe. So apparently I'm kinda healthy. But lacking in the upper and lower body strength department. And maybe in endurance. We did the standard physical fitness tests and I had to walk 1.5 miles on the treadmill--nearly took me a half hour. My calves are going to be screaming tomorrow morning.
Someone at TV Guide has a crush on the cast of Lost, as this week's issue is like, the third or fourth since the show started that has cast members on the cover. My Wal-Mart isn't carrying any of them. But the pictures are like, airbrushed like whoa. Not good. Didn't they tell the photographer that they have one of the prettiest casts on TV? No touch-ups required.
Today it was in the eighties. The friggin' eighties. And come this weekend, it'll be what, back in the forties again. I hate this.
I've been looking through 1000 Places to See Before You Die and I want to buy a passport and steal some money and go around the world and never come back. I want to see the canals in Venice. I want to see the Great Pyramids and stay in the Ice Hotel in Sweeden. I want to see the statues on Easter Island and I want to go to Greece and Paris and all the places in between. And, of course, not end up crashing on some uncharted, off-course island in the middle of the Pacific's answer to the Bermuda Triange, but hey (and speaking of: still working on the beginning of The Red Shirt Diaries. Yeah.).
