Jun. 21st, 2005 07:07 pmSo, the AFI "100 Greatest Movie Quotes" thing is on, so I'm gonna ask the definative question:
What're your favorite movie quotes?
A few of my favorites:
I'm sure you won't find Padua any different than your old school. Same little asswipe shit-for-brains everywhere!--Ms. Perky, 10 Things I Hate About You
Everything's getting shittier. My family forgetting my birthday just makes it more vivid.--Sam, Sixteen Candles
Buzz: I've set my laser from stun to kill.
Woody: [sarcastic] Oh, great, great. Yeah, and if anyone attacks us we can blink 'em to death.--Toy Story
We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering, these are all noble pursuits, and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for.--Mr. Keating, Dead Poets' Society
Hearts will never be practical until they are made unbreakable.--The Wizard, The Wizard of Oz
And I also like Lloyd's "bought, sold, or processed" speech from Say Anything.
I absolutely just squealed when they showed clips of the quotes they're going to use because "As if!" is in there somewhere. WOOOO CLUELESS!

Date: 2005-06-22 12:57 am (UTC)Mr. Burke: How's your wife?
George: Well, um, when we divorced a decade ago she was very, very angry. Now she's just hostile. (Life as a House)
George: Please, take that thumbtack out of your face. Let me, let me just get it out.
Sam: Why?
George: Come on.
Sam: Why?
George: It bugs me.
Sam: You snore at night. That really bugs me. Can I take you out? (Life as a House)
Dawn: You can't handle my infinite nature.
Brad: That is so not true. Wait, what does that even mean? (I Heart Huckabees)
I also love Noah's "Alright, alright, we'll go out." thing in The Notebook and for some reason I'll always adore Kathryn's "Unfortunately, I don't fuck losers." in Cruel Intentions.

Date: 2005-06-22 05:02 am (UTC)Copperhead: That's being more rational than Bill led me to believe you were capable of.
The Bride: It's mercy, compassion, and forgiveness I lack; not rationality. (Kill Bill)
Maude: Vice, Virtue. It's best not to be too moral. You cheat yourself out of too much life. Aim above morality. If you apply that to life, then you're bound to live life fully. (Harold and Maude)
Lloyd Dobler: The rain on my car is a baptism, the new me, Ice Man, Power Lloyd, my assault on the world begins now. (Say Anything)
Llyod Dobler: If you start out depressed everything's kind of a pleasant surprise. (Say Anything)
Bender: Screws just fall out all the time, the world is an imperfect place. (Breakfast Club)
Bender: Oh, obscene finger gestures from such a pristine girl! (Breakfast Club)
Donnie: What's the point of living if you don't have a dick? (Donnie Darko)
Jerome: I got the better end of the deal. I only lent you my body - you lent me your dream. (Gattaca)
Albert: Nobody sits like this rock sits. You rock, rock. The rock just sits and is. You show us how to just sit here and that's what we need. (I Heart Huckabees)
there are at least a thousand more. but i dont feel like typing them all out.
