Okay, I have seen everything. The Best Week Ever blog used the #1 LJ celeb news comm as a source. And I thought them using JJB was mindblowing enough.

The other night I was writing in the book journal and I ended up recalling the time when I got "The Talk". I'd never actually written it down, mostly because at the time it happened, I was eleven and pretty unwilling to write about my own experiences going through puberty, never mind explaining what I'd learned about reproduction. I think I'd tried to write about it, but I was too embarrassed. Hee. Plus, to make matters worse, I got The Talk at school. Catholic school. Yeah. I never asked my parents where babies came from--I had my theories and was convinced I was right. So you can just imagine my shock upon getting my theories shot down. It was actually pretty funny to remember--I would post it here, though I don't think the funny might translate well. Err... I don't know what I mean.

So... anyone want to share how they got the "birds and bees" talk? I especially want to hear the embarrassing/funny stories.

When I was 6, my best friend was a boy. We used to "play." One day he said "I know how to make a baby. I stick it in you. Wanna try?" Needless to say, I declined, and it wasn't as traumatizing as it probably sounds. But of course I had to go home and ask my mom if that was true. And so she had to get out the book Where Do I Come From? (this horrific cartoon book for kids) and explain it to me. That part was actually more traumatizing.

Obviously that Talk was very basic. Then of course we had Talks at school. And then everything else I learned from my friends, magazines, TV, etc.

I want to hear your theories. Heh.

Oh God, my mom and dad had Where Do I Come From?. I think if I'd ever asked, they probably would've given me that book and sent me skipping on my merry little way.

I was under the impression that women got pregant like this: while French-kissing, the man would spit into the woman's mouth, and she would swallow it. For some reason, I was convinced this was why people seemed so uptight about PDA. It could lead to pregnancy, dont'cha know. [g]
