enamouredWell, I'm back on my computer. Starting from scratch.
We couldn't fix the error, so basically: all my stuff's gone. Saved IMs, my 300+ MP3's, my various short stories and fan fiction, all of my Photoshop things, pictures uploaded from my digital camera, saved LJ icons, and other things--all gone. I'm trying to be zen about it because really, it shouldn't matter, but it does. I didn't back most of it up because, well, the last time I backed up all my files was on my Zip disk that I had a few years ago, and then when we got this computer, the Zip drive didn't work with it, so I got pissed. I kept meaning to back things up, but never did, blahdiddlyah. So yeah. Two and a half years worth of crap on my hard drive is wiped. Crikey.
I feel completely greedy and stupid asking for people to send me stuff. Like, I can get together the Photoshop stuff (yay for having a resource list) and get AIM and WinZip and all that other stuff, but as far as MP3s go... ehhh. I don't want like, every single song I had because chances were I wasn't listening to most of them. But there are certain songs I'd really like to have, and I might post that list later (at the risk of feeling horribly awful for doing so).
But in the meantime, to prevent myself from future meltdowns like this: I finally bought myself one of those USB stick things that holds about 170 floppies worth of things. Ah, modern convience, where are you when I need you?
Checked my banking statement. Check for paid account hasn't cleared yet. WHAT THE FAWKING HELL.
