Close to my part of the world (Arlington, TX): the salon I get my hair done at is offering free hair treatments for evacuees around the nineteenth. I can't remember the name of the salon (the stylist who does my hair just moved over there and I've only been by once), but once I do, I'll be sure and mention it again.
Most of my news has been gathered from other people's journals (like
cleolinda and
thebratqueen), so some of it might be second-hand.
Completely unrelated: went to Blockbuster and got two previously viewed DVDs for $12. The movies: Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights in all its cheesy glory, and Saved!, which I hadn't seen before. Glad I bought Saved!, as it was funneh, and with everything this week I've needed a little laugh time. And, oh my, caps from Robbie Williams's "Something Stupid" video with Nicole Kidman! (that I didn't know existed before today!) Gimme another day and I will totally have all those saved.
