Soooo. I got an American Girls catalog in the mail today. I get sent one at least once every two years or so. I hate the new catalogs. I miss the catalogs from back in the day, where they included every single piece from all the girls' collections. Whenever the new ones would come out, I'd take them to school and flip through them at lunch. Back when the Fametracker forums were still around, someone aptly describes the AG catalogs as "porn for little girls". Heh.

And dude! They have this contest in this one I got! You can win the Felicity doll, the new Elizabeth doll, and all their stuff! [sekritly wants]

I may not be a dress girl, but I want this and this. SO PRETTY. I have nowhere to wear them, but... pretty! And this top. Sigh.

I still get them every once in a while too and I agree about them having been better before. I used to pore over them even when there was nothing new, just drooling over the stuff and making lists of what I wanted (which was, you know, everything). But, I guess since they have so many more dolls now they want to just show parts of each collection. I only collected up through the Addy era, and there's like, 5 new ones since then (plus the AG of Today). So it would be a pretty huge catalog if they really included it all, I guess.

MYGOSH. I seroiusly remember those catalogs. I'd be like 7 and want the entire Samantha collection. So effing sad. Can I sign up to get a catalog somewhere?!

Remember when there was just Felcity, Kristen, Addie, Samantha, and Molly? Those were the good ol' days!

I watched the Samantha movie last Christmas just for the heck of it, it was really good. Uncle Gard was pretty hot. LOL.

Heck, I remember when they first ADDED Addy.

I never actually had anything from them, except the first Samantha book. My then-best-friend was a high-end lawyer's kid and had everything Samantha and a few things of Felicity's too.

i still get those magazines every now and then too. they kind of suck now, i miss the old ones...so much for pages filled with all the pictures of our favorite dolls. *sigh* oh well, just look at what tv guide did.
