I think I get progressively more and more wound-up/emo about Valentine's Day as the years go by. I always have that one part of the day where I feel crappy about it, and the rest of the time I'm like, "This is stupid." My maternal unit went and got all this stuff so that the brother could give it to his girlfriend, and... God, I don't know. It annoys me that she comes over here--not so much her, not as much as it used to be--but more because I just know if I'd had a boyfriend in high school the parents wouldn't be cool with him coming over when they weren't home. And maybe I'm just bitter and cynical, but I don't see the point in my mom even buying the things (even if my brother pays her back) because, well, they're in high school. It's not like it's going to last--even though they've been on/off for God knows how long.

But whatever. I'm gonna go sit in the Bitter Corner now. [g]

Your mom bought your brother's girlfriends gift for Valentine's Day? This is the look on my face --> o.O He's in high school, he can't shop for her himself? My ex's mom helped him picked out a gift for me, but that's because men have no taste (lol), but if his mom did it all himself I would've been like teh what??? Does that even make sense?

And yes Valentine's Day sucks when everyone around you gets candy and flowers and you get nadda. I hated this holiday during high school for that reason.
