Hi everyone! I hope that if you're a Christmas person, yours went well.

Here's how mine went:

I did Christmas Eve shopping because it's practically tradition. When I was a kid, my mom, brother, and I would brave the crowds and get up around 9 or 10 in the morning and not get home 'til after every place we needed to stop at was closed. Now I just do it on my own. I had to pick up a second gift for my dad at the mall, and then I ran over to Target to pick up something for my brother's girlfriend, then I ended up BACK at the mall on an errand for my mom. I had to go back to the Super Target near my house to exchange something I'd bought for my mom, and by then I was too exhausted to want to go anywhere else so I headed on home.

My brother and his girlfriend showed up around 10:30 or so, and we started opening presents after midnight mostly because I started getting antsy and also because my brother's girlfriend probably wouldn't have made it to dinner on Christmas day because of work. My dad gave my brother a battery powered helicopter, which freaked Pepper out a lot. My dad gave my mom a cylindrical package, which turned out to be a can of Folger's. We thought that it was a prank gift, until she twisted the top off and... it was vacuum sealed. About five minutes later, the coffee made sense. He got her a coffee maker, and that went pretty well with the coffee mugs my brother's girlfriend got her.

In lieu of risking my dad trying to buy me clothes that didn't fit and my mom being so confused that she ended up getting me money, I asked if it was okay if I sent them my Amazon wish list, so I had to teach my mom how to order things from there. I ended up getting a Blu-Ray player (!!!), a Polaroid camera (it's one of the newer ones that takes business card sized pictures) and film, and a new case for my Kindle. My brother and his GF gave me an Amazon gift card, and Dad got me another Amazon card and cash. One of my uncles sent a $50 Visa gift card, which is awesome because I rarely see him yet he always sends something at Christmas.

So after that was done, I crawled off to bed and ended up sleeping 'til practically noon, which was right about the time that the rain started to slowly become snow. We got about... two inches or so by the time the night was over. My brother stopped by around four, and after we all ate I ended up back in my room and under the blankets. I was in some sort of food coma 'til my brother insisted on setting up the Blu-Ray player, and we watched Freaky the Scary Snowman videos on it.

I ended up downloading two books I've wanted to check out for a while (The Diviners by Libba Bray and A Brief History of Montmaray by Michelle Cooper), read some, and nodded off again. I had one of those nights where I was asleep around 11, woke up at 2, and could not go back to sleep until 5. Not bad.

For some reason, I volunteered to work 11-7 tomorrow. Then I close on Friday, buuuuut I'm off on Saturday. I just want to stay in and read books on my Kindle. Sigh.
