Jun. 17th, 2006 01:35 pmI have had the weirdest past two days.
Work was kind of a drag on Thursday because the Mavericks lost. And then yesterday, I came to work hours early because I was looking at last week's schedule instead of this week's, and I was there for a whole hour before I realized I had my times wrong. Ooops.
To remedy this, I spent hours wandering the mall.
At first, I went to the bookstore and considered buying something, and decided against it. Then I went to Vanity, this new clothes store. I was pretty much convinced that I wouldn't be able to find anything in there that fit me, because as I've said in the past, I tend to stick to stores where I know I can buy shirts that aren't so tight that I could potentially look like a massive skank, and I wasn't exactly sure about this one yet. So I went around and this really nice salesgirl with several piercings asked me if I needed anything, and she in turn ended up finding me jeans, and what do you know--they fit! I left with a pair of jeans and an orange v-neck t-shirt with little cream-colored stars all over it.
Then I walked down to the other end of the mall and back, and ended up getting pulled over by this lady who was doing a survey for market research or something, and I spent ten minutes doing said survey. They paid me $3 for doing it, and as I left I counted the money and they'd given me $4. I went back to the bookstore and got a book, and started to feel guilty about the other dollar, so I went back to the market research place and gave the dollar back.
And on my lunch break, I actually checked out Steve and Barry's, another newish store at the mall that I hadn't really checked out. I didn't really think much of it at first, but my curiousity got the better of me and I wandered around. Have you ever checked out Old Navy when they have those 50% off of everything 50% off sales? Imagine that, but like... a whole store like that. The sign on one of the doors says everything in there is $7.58 or lower. Jeans. T-shirts. Shoes. Even freaking coats! The whole time I was like, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! and wishing I had more time to look around.
Snarkfest got a mention from Entertainment Weekly!
World Cup = ?! How many hours does the average soccer match last?!
