thoughts on handwriting.

I remember being in second grade and being completely psyched to learn how to write in cursive. I thought that cursive seemed so elegant, and I used to love practicing in our handwriting books. Cursive had all those loops and swirls and everything that print didn't. From fourth grade through sixth, we were pretty much required to write everything for school in cursive, and I did and I loved it.

But when I started writing in my seventh grade journal, I decided to take up print for some reason. And pretty much since then, I've written in print most of the time. My cursive, in my opinion, sucks. That sample up there isn't exactly what my usual cursive looks like; it's more of a jazzed up version, or an attempt at it.

So, do you think you have good handwriting? People fawn over my handwriting a bit, and I always find myself apologizing for my cursive, even though people say it looks nice. Samples = love.

my handwriting looks like a loopy cross between print and cursive with certain letters being printed and others written in cursive and then some letters are written in small caps. alas, i have no handwriting sample to show for it.

I wish I had samples to show you, but let's just say that my handwriting is so horrid that I have trouble reading it. And that's my print.

I don't think I've actually used cursive for about six years now.

Dude, your cursive looks like a font! Mine still looks like it did back in second grade! (Although, I think I learned in third.) I have impecibly nice handwriting. I suppose I like it, but it is extremely neat. When I handed in my passport papers, the lady exclaimed, "You have the best handwriting!" I never use cursive anymore except when signing my name, but I usually do connect a lot of my letters.
