OMG guys, tell me to stop watching movies and do something.
I have a bio test tomorrow, and all I've done this weekend is watch movies. Friday night I got The Little Mermaid on DVD, and I watched it Saturday morning. I'm surprised that nearly seventeen years after seeing it on the big screen, the part at the end when Ursula goes giant and starts up that vortex o' doom or whatever still is creepy to me. I remember being four and scared to death seeing it, but even now it creeps me out. Then later on that evening I got bored and I watched Casanova for like, the tenth time or so, which means that I quoted lines back at the TV.
This leads to today. I went and saw The Departed like I said I was going to. It was at 3:50, so the theater wasn't packed or anything. Maybe I'm just kind of oversensitive (or not desensitied to blood enough--not that that's neccesarily a good thing) but wow, violent was my first reaction. I don't know what this means, though, if it's me not being used to seeing anything by Martin Scorsese before, so I don't know if practically everybody gets shot at in any of his other movies. But yeah--the shooting, good Lord. The second was that I think that Mark Whalberg might've set some kind of world record for dropping the most f-bombs in a single sentence ever. It was almost amusing. And the third was OMG MARTIN SHEEN!, which made me think of
waderapspoorly.
After the movie, I came home and tried to get started on some of my studying for said bio test, but got distracted by the replay of Degrassi (sigh, why am I such a sucker for Sean/Emma? Is this because my other OTP has pretty much flatlined?) and Masterpiece Theater, which showed part one of the BBC Casanova mini-series with The Doctor (who I recently learned was in one of the Harry Potter movies as a Death Eater--speaking of Harry Potter, remind me to finish reading the rest of the books out already soon!). It's entertaining so far--I laughed (and giggled) quite a bit, and now wish I'd taped it.
I thought that after that, I'd be ready to finish homework, but no--I decided I had to go up to Wal-Mart and seek provisions. I returned about 10:30 with cereal and Pop Tarts and the new issue of Seventeen with that guy Teddy Geiger on the cover. He's cute, Teddy Geiger, but I cannot freaking stand his music. It makes me want to throw things.
So yeah. Procrastinating is not good. I am going to study now. Grah.
