I am finally over my "I solemnly swear to NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN get hooked on American Idol phase," because I've come to the conlusion that it's just useless. That show is the frickin' Borg of my television watching experience. Resistance is futile. I might as well just accept it. Thing is, I'm not the one who watches only for the bad auditions; I'm always obsessively watching for the genuinely good people, and have been since the beginning. The hilariously bad auditions have been fewer and farther between since the third season, so I need something else to watch for, plus I always have to have someone to root for (and since Kelly? They're always finalists). So luckily for me, I'm off tonight so I get to catch the first round of auditions, yay.

I am apparently elligible to sign up for another class for free. Cool! Except I A.) don't know what to take, and B.) don't know if I can squeeze it in to my schedule. I'm still waiting for my Human Sexuality class to go live (it's an online class; first time I'm trying it, and I'm psyched for it), and since this is my last semester pre-transfer, I don't really have much else to take.

Is America Ferrera's acceptance speech from the Golden Globes up on YouTube? I missed the show, and I was only able to see a small clip of her winning at work and I wanted to see the whole thing.

And: way back when (circa 2002/2003-ish, I think), I used to do an Icon of the Day post. It was kind of like [livejournal.com profile] userpicks, only in my journal, and not always about the funny icons (though plenty of those were featured), but sometimes just the pretty, striking, and yes, funny ones. So in that tradition, from [livejournal.com profile] mouseykins1:

Oh my gosh! That quote! In your icon! I know it from somewhere! Ack!

It's from Monty Python and the Holy Grail! I meant to do a bunch of icons with quotes from that movie, because it's so quoteable. I'd been unknowingly quoting it for years before I saw it.

I thought it was the Holy Grail, and I saw the scene in my head, but I wasn't sure...thanks!

It is so very quoteable.
