I've seen this in a few places over the past few days, but some of you might not have: is the dancer turning clockwise or counterclockwise? SO TRIPPY. The first time, I swore she was going counterclockwise, and then I looked at it again and it looks like she's going clockwise! I am so confused.

Meme time, because it be fun:

Comment on this post. I'll choose seven userpics from your profile and you'll reply here (or you know, your own journal, whichever), explaining what they mean and why you're using them. Post this along with your answers in your own journal so others can play along.

Even though I did this with [livejournal.com profile] mouseykins1, I'm going to do it again with seven random ones.

This icon, apparently, comes from one of the teaser posters for The Little Mermaid (and I totally want it; the full version is lovely). It's my current default, and, well... The Little Mermaid is one of my favorite Disney movies, and it's pretty.

Danny Phantom icon. Got to love the enthusiasm. I so totally miss when I was crazy into this show.

during the first season of Lost, [livejournal.com profile] cleolinda did recaps. This line comes from the recap of "Confidence Man", if I recall correctly.

keyword: one girl revolution/made by [livejournal.com profile] deutscheami
this is Nico from the comic Runaways. Nico is awesome, as are all the girls in the comic, but she's my favorite. I even almost dressed up as her for Halloween last year.

Flash Forward! It was a TV show that aired Stateside on The Disney Channel and (in some markets) on ABC Saturdays. It starred a young Jewel Staite (Kaylee!) and Ben Foster (who had me going, "HOLY CRAP!" throughout all of 3:10 to Yuma, which I saw last night and liked quite a bit), and it was about two best friends surviving eighth grade together. It is, in my oh-so humble opinion, a great deal better than a lot of the shows aimed at the same age group now.

keyword: cult of halapeno/made by me
On I Love the '90s, they talked about the Branch Davidians and Waco, and Hal Sparks started musing over what he'd call his cult. Someone actually anonymously commented to a post I once made with this icon to tell me that I'd misspelled it, but if you knew the context, it would totally make sense.

keyword: disney gave me unrealistic expectations/made by me
I started with Disney, and I end with Disney. This is an actual Facebook group that I am a member of. I was going to do a set of icons with the theme being "cool names of Facebook groups". I have them saved, but I think they're too plain and this is the only one that's seen life beyond my hard drive, because it is so true. (Some of the other Facebook groups I put on icons were "Stop Killing Jeffrey Dean Morgan!" and "Fuck This, I'm Transferring to Hogwarts")

I saw the dancer going both ways when I did it a few nights okay. It was sooo trippy, lol.

That dancer thing isn't a good way to show that, because I watched it for about five minutes and it stops and turns the other direction about halfway through. I felt cheated!

First all I could see was her going counter-clockwise. Then I tried the "peripheral vision" trick mentioned in the comments on the site and I got her to go clockwise.. now, even with reloading, closing my eyes, etc. I can only see her going clockwise! Ahh!

She looks like she's going clockwise to me. Although really, in dance terms, we would refer to it as en de dans or en dehors, not clockwise or counter. ;) Hehe.

And her technique sucks. :)

Yayz. Mind if I steal the last icon? I'm member of a similarly named facebook group, and also it is so true.

1) Peter Lorre from The Maltese Falcon, made by this ninja here. Peter Lorre is an awesome actor from long ago, and I really like his expression in this picture.

2) Takezo Kensei from Heroes, made by [livejournal.com profile] canadian_turtle. His expression is amusing.

3) Bret from Flight of the Conchords, by [livejournal.com profile] elsmoka. New Zealand folk comedy bands FTW! Bret is trying out a new look in this picture.

4) Sanogo and another player from the German soccer club Werder Bremen, made by [livejournal.com profile] iambestza. Werder Bremen is my favorite German club, and Sanogo is one of my favorite players on the team. And aww they're hugging...

5) Icon for the English soccer club Arsenal, made by [livejournal.com profile] sharkina. Because my team plays with a prettier passing flow than most others. -nods-

6) A monster from the manga Uzumaki, made by [livejournal.com profile] rxni at [livejournal.com profile] shuraba_icons. I like the creepy freakiness. The story's about a town that gets taken over by spirals. yes. It's perfect for Halloween!

7) Shiina Ringo, by [livejournal.com profile] lalalovepears. She's a crazy/creative Japanese singer/songwriter/composer/music director/clothes addict/free spirit who creates a variety of songs, from waltz to rock to jazz. She breaks the stereotype of fluffy Japanese pop, and I fangirl her even though her voice can be odd at times.

oh, and I mentioned you in this post!

OKAY THAT FUN FACT IS THE BEST EVER.

The dancer is confusing the hell out of me! But I can't look away.
