When my granddad moved in with us a few months ago, my dad had to clean up some. He called me in one day and gave me this card about the size of an invitation to something. It was one of my birth announcements, complete with a picture and how much I weighed and the time I was born. I thought for the longest that I was born at 7 A.M., but then my mom said it was 9, and this just verified: 8:55 A.M. on December 10, 1985.

I don't have class tomorrow and I don't have to work, so I will study and maybe go bowling or something.

In the meantime: GJ has gone completely mad. First there were slowdowns and breakdowns during the summer, with the influx of LJers, most likely. Then came them scaling back icons (they went from 1000 free to 100), and getting rid of private messages, and then this week they started to refer new users to InsaneJournal and cut back icons to 10. If this didn't make the users mad enough, there was talk that one of the mods used money for renames to pay bills and that the site owner hadn't talked to the support team since GreatestJournal started in 2003 (!!!)... so yeah.

Anyway: if you're from GJ (and reading this), you knew all of that already; how are you guys despite that?

The LJ team must be very amused that the LJ freakout caused the GJ implosion[*], causing GJers to flock to LJ...

It is awfully, hilariously cyclical.

This is pretty much what I was going to say except I am also amused because seriously the whole strikethrough and recently Russian buyout and several other things over the years have provided me with hours of lulz.

Question: When will people learn?
Answer: Never.

Also, what *is* the deal with CSI: Miami this season?

This season? This season? What about all the other seasons? After that tsunami, 'scuse me, tidal wave1 hit Miami and the thief used it to float the gold bars on the second floor of the bank out to sea where they were collected by said thief after he robbed the same bank's lower floor to create a distraction before the tidal wave hit the bank, I pretty well figured out that this was not going to be a Serious Show on the Gritty Realities gritting Inner City Miami. No, CSI:Miami's writers practice gonzo scriptwriting, pushing their own gritty word processors to the edge of the state of what they might call 'art,' but you'll be excused if you call it something different. To the folks who write WTF:Miami, word processor is to words as food processor is to foods.

1 As they persisted in calling it for most of the program...

And with this synopsis you've pretty much became my favorite person (well this week anyway *grin*).

I caught an episode this season where there was sexual tension between Eric and Calleigh and my WTF radar went off. It's bad enough I boycotted regular CSI when Grissom and Sara hooked up but this...there are no words. Please tell me they haven't hooked up too or I might vomit a little in my mouth. (Only because the writers always said the CSI shows were going to be about th storylines and not the personal lives of the characters but based on what's going on on all three shows apparently I MISSED A FUCKING MEMO.)

Also, Horatio's GQ posing makes my life.

Grissom and Sara hooked up and split up (I hope you don't mind me spoiling), and Sara's off the show for good now.

Also, Horatio's GQ posing makes my life.

HEEEEEEE.

Er, make no mistake, I love the show. But I try to be a realist about it.

My only remaining RP game left GJ for CommieJournal a while ago.

CJ has been down all day. But it occasionally going down for like half a day is the only problem we ever have with it.

Wasn't LJ like that in, say, 2001? For some reason I remember it being slow when I'd be trying to update in the middle of my webmastering class.

It's kind of cool, knowing exactly when you were born.

I was always so confused by it; Dad said one time and my mom said another. So it was cool to get confirmation!

I just needed to back up two more journals. GAH.

Is that not the most insane thing ever, if so?

i backed up my ooc, my main (and pretty much only) rp journal and my examples...i have some older character journals that i might transfer over to another server or just download entries because i'm really worried at this point.

IT IS. that's...couldn't she get sued or something for that since it was all donated for the site? but if she hasn't spoken to system nor answered anyone's questions...AND she did the reset in may. it's december and so many people are still usernameless.

I don't even know. I can't even get it to load right now (CAN YOU?! OH IF YOU CAN I NEED A FAVOR). It keeps saying it's having a hard time connecting to the server. I think it's just too many people logging in and trying to back up their stuff or whatever; I'm hoping it's back live tomorrow.

Happy birthday!

I was wondering would implode. I figured it'd be a matter of time once they dropped their user pics before. Though I could not imagine having 1000 icons. I have a hard enough time remembering the 100+ I have here!
