Okay, semi-hypothetical question. Let's say that you needed $500 in the span of a week. Say you've got about half of that stowed away somewhere. What would be a good way to get the other $250 in a semi-timely manner?

For the record: no, this isn't for illegal gains. Yes, you could theoretically drain your entire savings, but you don't really want to resort to that.

Short term loan from someone who loves you? Credit card?

Hmm, yeah if I knew I wouldn't have the problems I have now... lol. I'm guessing a loan from a relative or someone is the best way to go.

Sell stuff you have lying around on Craigslist.

Look on Craigslist for short-term contract work and see if they'll pay you in cash.

Yeah, I'd concur with the suggestions to borrow from a close friend/loved one and selling stuff.

All of the above suggestions, plus another quick way to earn some money fast is to run errands for people, like picking up dry cleaning, going to the post office, taking cars for oil changes, walking dogs, that kind of thing. People hate that stuff and pay to have it done for them.

Whenever I need cash in a hurry that I don't actually have (which is more often than I'd like), I usually go to the bank and have the amount I need taken off my credit card. The interest rates on the amount are usually pretty reasonable. Then again, I have a really good credit card, so that might not work for just anyone.
