1. I am oddly saddened that June is almost over.
2. I saw Wall-E on Saturday. I just--how is it that a movie about robots can be so, so CUTE?! I'm talking ridiculously cute. At one part towards the end, this little girl behind me goes, "Mom, are you crying?" Which reminded me of the Air Bud story. I was actually a wee bit apprehensive about the movie at first, to be honest. And the short before it was awesome.
3. On Saturday, Jimmy John's (this sub place) brought us sandwiches at work. I was also the only one in the department from eight until ten that morning, as someone called out and the other guy who was supposed to have showed up late. V. frustrating.
4. I had a creepy yet funny dream a few nights ago. I'd gotten tickets to see The Dark Knight, and I was going with my dad to the theater at the mall. About halfway through the movie, this guy next to me announced that he needed new sneakers and I, for some reason, decided to go with him to get said sneakers. I stayed in the car in the parking lot of this shopping center while he went into whatever shoe store. It was dark, and I noticed that there were no other cars out around the same time that I heard this maniacal laughter. And then I heard it again, and basically, I woke up around the time I realized I was being chased by The Joker.
So the creepy factor is totally understandable, but the funny comes from Random Guy deciding he wants to leave a movie to buy shoes. Who does that? After what you pay for a standard adult ticket, popcorn, a Coke, and maybe some Raisonettes, you're practically paying for half of a pair of Nikes, so you might as well curb your shoe appetite and watch the damn movie.
5. I may be going to the midnight show of that movie. EEEEEEEE.
6. So the Discovery Channel has this commercial, which is a good pick-me-up for those days in which you are convinced that the world sucks (and lately, there have been quite a few of those days). So then XKCD, one of the Best Webcomics Ever, does this, which is also a very good pick-me-up, and funny to boot. And the other day, I realized that I know that song (or, at least the tune of it) because of Bug Juice.
7. And the live one is also happy-making.
8. I want to go see Maroon 5 when they're down here in September, but the really good seats are $125. With Ticketmaster fees, that'd be, oh, HALF OF A CHECK FOR ME PRACTICALLY. I just really want to know if they'll do "Back at Your Door", or if they ever do "Sunday Morning" live. That's all I want. ;_;
9. Back in the dark ages, when MTV and VH1 actually showed music videos at a decent hour, I used to want to direct them. And I had this conversation with a friend a few weeks ago about that:
Me: I used to want to direct music videos.
Lexa: Really?
Me: yeah. Like, back when MTV used to show videos. I thought it would be cool.
Me: I used to come up with video treatments and everything.
Lexa: Oh, Candice.
Lexa: MTV? Videos?
Lexa: You're dating yourself.
And these are some of my favorite videos, and ones that totally made me want to do something like that. Man, I miss Pop-Up Video and those hours I'd spend parked on our old pull-out bed couch watching VH1. I wish music videos were still good. [is old]
10. Finally: BOND!!!!!! I'm just glad I didn't see this trailer for the first time in a theater, because otherwise, I would've been squealing loudly. And embarrassingly. [flails] NOVEMBER 7!
