Jul. 10th, 2008 09:53 amOkay, style question!
I have fallen deeply in love with that blue coat, which comes from Delia's and they might have it in my size. But the thing is this: I've heard that women with big chests shouldn't wear double-breasted coats, 'cause they tend to make you look humongous.
Thoughts? Should I take a chance on a coat that is gorgeous as all get-out or go for something else?
I still want a navy blue trench coat that's quarter-length. I love trench coats for no particular reason; I just think they're cool. I also want cuffed, slightly wide-legged pants in navy, but I haven't managed to find any that I like yet. Woe.
While we're still talking about fashion: what is it with Ed Westwick? His hair is so hideously adorably coiffed there. HEEEE.
Good God almighty, this cover is heinous. It has GOT to be a parody. For real!
And finally: I had a dream that
giventofly37 was going with me to see The Dark Knight. That movie is trying to eat my life, guys.

Date: 2008-07-10 11:10 pm (UTC)In my experience, it depends on the shape of the double-breasted coat. One that goes straight down will make you look boxy, especially if you don't have much of a waist. But if a coast flairs out a little below the waist or draws in at the waist (and especially if you have a bit of a waist), chances are it will look just fine.
If you have a Delia's in your town, I'd try it on first, or at least try on a very similar coat -- I wouldn't buy it blindly online just because those kinds of coats are so iffy for girls with our shapes. :)
The EW cover cracks me up. Needs more dazzle, though.

I hope it's a parody, because I definitely don't want to see that in the grocery store.
