Aug. 20th, 2008 10:17 pmI have a random work story.
The other day, I was doing... something (measuring some kid's feet or something like that, and can I just say that lately, there has been an inordinate amount of kids who have come in wearing no socks and in possession of absolutely REEKY feet? One kid came in and his feet smelled HORRIBLE, and his mom asked me to measure him and was all, "Oh, we just got back from the lake..." EWWW. EWW EWW EWWWWWW), when this little girl walked by. She was about, oh, eight or nine, and she was wearing a t-shirt with the move poster for Sixteen Candles on it. I was kind of impressed. So I asked her if she'd seen the movie, and she was like, "Yeah."
This kind of made me smile, 'cause when I was that age I was totally watching Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Clueless, or the House Party movies (WHO REMEMBERS THOSE MOVIES?! Wasn't there one part in one of them where they were going through a house of mirrors or a maze or something, and there were wax figures? God, the early '90s) whenever my mom and dad weren't around. And since Lifetime Movies and USA likes showing the various '80s teen movies a bit, she absolutely could've seen it on TV. Aww.
Jonathan Horton (the American gymnast who got silver last night) is ADORABLE, OMG. I love how psyched he is. And when the men's team won bronze, he was all, "WE'RE GOIN' SWIMMING IN THE RIVER!!!" and I was laughing so hard because they were all so happy.
