Dear Amazon: plz be sendin' me mah copy of Blue Bloods Book Three soon. I know it's coming, but knowing that it's out in stores and that people have already read it is making me twitch. I have to know what's going on! AUUUUGH.

I am having a few minor issues with my newfound NaNo plot. The basic starting point is this: a youngish guy finds a packing envelope stuffed behind some books in a library. He opens it and inside, there are pictures, a few pieces of jewelry, CD-Rs in jewel cases, sheets of paper with notes on them, and inside the case of one of the CDs is a note with "Everything you ever needed to know about me is in here" written on it. Some of the pictures and notes inside the envelope are kind of sketchy and/or disturbing, and while Guy is freaked out, he doesn't get truly interested until he starts wondering why the person who left the envelope (the girl seen most in the stack of pictures) actually left it, and why so many intimate things were shoved into it.

The problem is that I cannot, for the life of me, decide what happens next. I know I don't want the girl to be kidnapped or dead, and I want to keep a touch of danger in there, and she definitely intended to give the envelope to someone who either didn't return her feelings for them or someone who was just careless enough to leave everything about her behind. On the other hand, I have had this cracked-out plot for a semi-modern reimagining of The Little Mermaid stuck in my head for months, and I thought about somehow tying that to this story but I don't know and urgh.

So yeah. Suggestions, anyone? I don't know what it is with me always asking for plot help from everyone during NaNo. The writing is the easiest in comparison, sometimes.

I still love Pushing Daisies so, so much. Ned is so weird yet adorable at once.

Finally: OMG in one week we'll have election results. HOLD ME, SOMEONE.

Waiting for election results sucks so bad when you've already voted.

What if the girl is the guy's long-lost sister? And he finds out this huge sordid family history by going through all the stuff?

Found you via NaNo

What if the guy was the girl in a previous life and s/he left the package behind to remember who s/he is/was?

I'm curious about your Little Mermaid story and how you could tie that in.

Also, I think you might enjoy The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall.
