Four years later, and I still haven't entirely forgiven ABC for canning Life As We Know It. This gives them two strikes. I am convinced that this week is a nice fluffy Suck Cake with Craptacular Frosting and a nice cherry Failsauce Glaze.
I am only mildly convinced that the only thing that might make me feel better is going to see Twilight for the lulz, but then I'll be reminded that you don't need to write well to get published and have people fawn all over your work and become, in a tiny space of time, a millionare. (However, in good writerly news for me: I'm showing parts of the Boarding School Epic of Doom to a writer's group, and I've gotten good feedback on it so far from other people. Maybe, maybe I have a chance.)
