food food food nom nom nom.
Nov. 25th, 2008 11:32 pmTHANKSGIVING IN LESS THAN TWENTY-FOUR HOURS. Guys, I have helped to prepare the greens with my mom. If you have never cracked the stalks off of collard greens, you will not understand why I am so eager to eat those damn things.
(Well, you might, only it'd be more like, "Well, it's food, dumbass." Moving on.)
Random: I didn't know they still did Disney on Ice shows! I remember going to see Peter Pan on Ice with my mom and brother when I was really little, and my Girl Scout troop saw Pocahontas on Ice.
Dear Stephenie Meyer: STEP AWAY FROM MARVEL RIGHT NOW. Please remind me to finish my works in progress so that I can make major bank on my books and we can all pretend that Twilight ever happened. Conversely: these two girls in my drawing class kind of hate that I said that the books were "delightfully cracky". One even looks kind of like how I'd picture Bella, only, well, she's cooler (she's got hot pink streaks in her hair right now).
Stealing from everyone else: What has surprised you the most about me (if anything) since joining my flist/"friending me"? Was anything completely unexpected or have I always fit the picture of me you have in your head?

Date: 2008-11-26 06:16 am (UTC)Did you see Twilight yet? It was the funniest movie I've seen all year.
I don't really remember a time we weren't friends on LJ. I don't even know how we became friends. We just are. What surprises me is that after five or six years, we're still friends and I can tell you pretty much anything. It's nice.

Date: 2008-11-26 06:29 am (UTC)2. YES I DID! I tried to call you on Saturday/Sunday and tell you but I hung up by accident twice. D:
3. I think you're one of like, five people who's been on my friends list for that long. Feel special!

Date: 2008-11-26 06:36 am (UTC)(Oh hey, funny story about me being a ~governess~. Friday I got a call from the kids' school that the boy was in the office and someone needed to pick him up immediately. I go and get him and it turns out he tried to shave his head on the playground during recess with a pink Lady Bic. I am not making this up.)
2. I saw you called but I was at a bar and I couldn't answer!
3. You're my only long term friend that actually updates. And I do feel special ALL THE TIME. I don't need you telling me to feel special! ;)

Date: 2008-11-26 09:12 am (UTC)To answer the question at the end of your post, a lot of why I was interested in friending you was that your username and some of your interests at the time made me think you'd be a huge ditz, but instead what I found were intelligent, well-thought-out posts. Many years later, yours remains one of my favorite lj's to read, because your posts are so much better than a lot of the other stuff I get on my f-page!
