this would make a great
ticketboothed post.
Dec. 11th, 2008 11:34 pmLast night, I did more than I probably ever have done just to see a movie.
Mom got home around 5:30, and we left for Studio Movie Grill around an hour later, so that we could catch the 6:40 showing of Australia. Once I got inside, the woman at the counter told me that someone had rented out the theater for a private screening.
Me, in response: ...BUT THIS MEANS MY BIRTHDAY WILL BE WITHOUT THOSE TASTY, TASTY POTATO SKINS! :[
I relayed this info to Mom, and as we walked out to the car, I suggested that we go to the theater at the mall. My mom wasn't exactly feeling that idea ("I don't want to get into that mall traffic"), so we drove back towards our side of town and went to see if the movie was playing at the theater near us. It was, at 8, so we drove across the street, had dinner at the Mongolian grill, and went back to the theater...
...only to have the woman at the ticket booth tell us, "Oh, it might be cold in that theater. The heater's broken."
Mom and I exchanged a mutual look of :|.
So we decided to drive to Cedar Hill to check out the theater over there. It was open, but the next showing was at 10:35.
Me: ...
Mom: ...
Me: We should go back to the mall.
So while we drove back towards our side of town, I checked the movie show times on her phone. The next show at the mall started at 9:55, and it was about 8:20, so we finally went over there and finally saw the movie.
So that, plus my art history exam and cheek biting, was my twenty-third birthday.
