I always feel squeamish when I have to read something aloud in class. I burst into tears once in middle school because the teacher had us reading parts from The Call of the Wild and I lost my place and he yelled at me (it didn't help that my mom had yelled at me for something that morning before I'd left for school and the very teacher had given me detention because I left for the restroom because I was feeling like I was going to hurl, and even after I told him I felt like I was going to be sick he said no). It's not that bad any more; I just always tend to rush through everything and read reallyreallyfast. So I hated having to read my "A Meets B" script in Intro to Film and Video today.

A Meets B was just this simple assignment--we had to write a short, three page max, script with A having something and trying to give it to B, who doesn't want it. I wrote about a girl who tries to give her boyfriend a concert ticket to a boy band reunion show. The boyfriend is not pleased.

Before we read everyone's scripts, we were talking about something else, and somehow I brought up Twilight. And this other girl was like, "OMG THOSE BOOKS SUCK" and then we started talking and she was like, "Do you know about Twatlight?" That made my day.

Did I tell you guys that I won a cheesecake at work? Well, I won a cheesecake at work last Sunday.

We were having our annual employee appreciation party, and we didn't go to a restaurant this year. So we had it in the part of the store where they keep the canoes and kayaks and other small boats. Every year, we do a raffle, and you can win various prizes. During the first two years, we had all sorts of great prizes, like gift baskets and gift cards (the first year I went, I traded the $15 Red Lobster gift card I'd won for a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card this other guy won). This year, we had Dallas Mavericks glasses, Thermoses, the old TV that was in the break room (as we now have a digital flat screen TV back there), and four cheesecakes. I wanted the TV, but that was only because I have occasional moments of crazy and was like, "I am going to pawn that TV."

But anyway, so our store manager is calling off numbers, and one of the guys in my department wins a cheesecake, and then one of the department managers wins one, and someone else wins one, and I was thinking, I'm not winning anything, I'm going home when the manager called my number and I reacted in the most horrifying way possible:

I shrieked and then started laughing so hard I started crying.

So yeah, I now have 3/4ths of a cheesecake sitting in my refrigerator now because of that.

This is how I would react to winning a cheesecake as well. You are not alone.
