Once upon a time (around early/mid 2001), I was a "contributor" to a boy band humor site. I don't know if anyone else out there (besides maybe
woo2step and
waderapspoorly, and a few other people on my friends list) remembers humor sites, but they were usually run by girls who were fans of the groups, but would snark on them for certain things. They were basically like Geocities/Angelfire-based capslock communities, or
ontd_twatlight and communities in the same vein. The big ones that I can remember were Whodaman and 'da Phat Farm (they focused on the Backstreet Boys), and Doug and the Slugs (which was *NSYNC based, and I do not remember the reason why that was the site's name).
Anyway! So I used to write insane, occasionally ridiculous things for this site, usually song parodies. One of the other girls who contributed to the site, Jen, had an LJ, and I remembered checking it out one day and thinking it was kind of lame at first. I had an online journal at the time, on a site called Scribble.nu (if anyone remembers that, well, you deserve an internet), and I thought Scribble was so much better since you could HTML-ize your layout out the wazoo. I finally caved in and registered when Scribble announced that it was going pay-only, and since I was fifteen and could not pay to use a journal site, I decided it was time for me to head elsewhere. And I've been here ever since.
I can't even remember what my user name on Scribble was. They had a six or eight letter/number limit on usernames, so I think it was crazyce or something like that. I can't remember; I probably have it written down somewhere. I still kind of lament that I never saved what I wrote over there, even though it was the chronicles of my freshman year of high school and was super angsty and ridiculous. But at the same time, I have enough high school angst and ridiculousness here, so there's that.
I WANT THIS SEMESTER TO BE OVER NOW, THANKS, GOD.
