this is my princess icon.
Aug. 16th, 2009 10:21 pmOh hey, it's my LJ-versary!
...EIGHT YEARS, WHAT?!
I'm reading "Everything's Better With Princesses" on TVTropes, and I keep thinking that I wish I could find a copy of the book The Ordinary Princess. I remember reading it when I was about eight or so, and really liking it. I think I need to visit the library and hope for the best.
I had a few moments of wannabe princess-ness when I was a kid. I wanted that board game Pretty Pretty Princess, and I wanted to be Miss America so I could wear a pretty dress and have a crown. But I never, I don't know, obsessed over the idea. I wanted to do other things like be a gymnast or a figure skater or a vet, and as far as I knew then, princesses didn't do those things, so it kind of lost its charm for me. I don't know. I also used to watch Disney movies and want to be the animator or the voice actor instead of living in them.

Date: 2009-08-17 03:49 am (UTC)I had Pretty Pretty Princess as a kid. I played it once and then incorporated the jewelry into my everyday life. The jewel stickers meant for the crown were used as Barbie earrings and they also bedazzled a jacket for Teddy Ruxpin.
