I asked this at [livejournal.com profile] thequestionclub earlier, and I figured why not ask it over here too. So:

What are some good songs that sound like they should be from a different era but were actually released in a much later time period? (Example: "Love That Girl" by Raphael Saadiq, which sounds very '60s R&B but was released in 2008)

Going Up The Country by Kitty, Daisy & Lewis from last year comes to mind immediately. :)

"Dreaming of You" by the Coral. It came out around 2002-2003, but sounds like it's from the 60s.

I've been listening a lot to a band called The Horrors that definitely recalls the 60's. Their album Primary Colours came out this past may, but my mom says it sounds like it's straight from '67. A song that I recommend from it is "sea within a sea"

Check out the Delmonas. They recorded in the eighties, but sound like an an awesome all-girl garage band from the mid-sixties.
