I was going to enter The Fangirl's Guide to Life (my NaNo novel from last year) for review for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award. I was this close to having it finished and edited and I was working on it up 'til the very end of the deadline (11:59 Eastern). I was SO CLOSE, when the deadline came and the window closed.
I'm sort of disappointed, but at the same time, I am so proud that I have this 191 page manuscript. It is probably still in need of major editing, but it's the longest thing I've written, finished, and edited before in my life. I can still get the free copy for winning NaNo, and I could still self-publish it and enter it next year. Or I could finally finish writing and editing my other big story, Better Than Truth.
Either way, one day my name is going to be on a book spine at Borders, and when that day happens, I am going to warn you all in advance, I will be insufferable.
