Mar. 31st, 2010 11:58 pmHand to God, I think this has been the longest March ever. It felt like it'd never end. And on top of that, I got some bad news and ugh. 2010 was supposed to be awesome for me. Where is my awesome, 2010?!
Day 16: An art piece

Paris Street; Rainy Day, by Gustave Caillebotte
I'm currently taking Art of the West II, and shortly before spring break we covered Impressionism and about how photography began to influence art. Caillebotte's interest in photography is seen somewhat in his works--he would paint scenes and frame them so that they looked like someone took a picture on a busy street. I love how crisp and semi-photographic this looks, and it's one of my favorite pieces that we've talked about in class so far.
