Aug. 12th, 2010 09:07 pmA bunch of little things:
1. Around 1:30 I log into my "main" e-mail account and see that I have a notice from Borders. Pat Benetar was at my local Borders doing a signing for her autobiography and the signing was at 12:30. I MISSED IT. I was very vexed, especially considering that I've been blasting "Heartbreaker" a disturbing amount of times this summer.
2. I might have mentioned before that starting from the time I was about maybe six or so, I'd tried to write a novel during the summer. Well, when I was ten, my dad gave me a floppy disk and taught me how to use our basic word processing program (we didn't have Office on our old computer) and I wrote about nine chapters (each of which was about three pages long and rambly and had all sorts of errors because I knew jack about typing and didn't space after periods and such) before I got distracted. During the floppy years, I accumulated about twenty or so, some of which used to contain programs that my dad erased so that I could put my own stuff on there and a lot of them contain story fragments, pictures of pop stars, and Lord knows what else. I had them in a box, and that box has been AWOL for about two and a half years. I don't know why but I thought about that a few minutes ago, and I wish that I could look at that first typed novel attempt, maybe save it for posterity or whatever.
But I can't find the damn box.
3. School starts back in less than a week, and next weekend is tax-free. Ugh.
4. Also writing related: I am thinking about NaNoWriMo already. I have two ideas. I still also want to finish the Boarding School Epic before next year's Amazon contest but it is going slowly. Why is it that when you have the best ideas for something it takes forever to get it all out but when you come up with something on the fly it comes a little easier?
5. Also writing: I have the most random idea ever for some Glee fan fiction, and I have not written fan fiction in a couple of years. Hmm.
