I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I have a problem (maybe a bit of an allergy to?) with eggs. I don't know what it is specifically about eggs on their own--scrambled, fried, in a sandwich--but when I eat them, I tend to get sick. I think this has been a problem for a while because I remember when I was a kid, I used to always feel nauseous whenever my dad scrambled eggs. Despite this, I love scrambled eggs and after a particularly bad reaction to them in high school I've been unofficially banned from eating them. If we go out to any breakfast places, my mom gives me a Look if I want eggs.

So recently, I've been trying to eat them again, just to see what would happen. I didn't have a bad reaction after I went to IHOP once this summer and got pancakes and eggs and I was like, "Yay! Maybe I'm over it!" In the time since then I'd tentatively eaten sausage and egg biscuits and a few hard-boiled eggs and, of course, scrambled at IHOP even though somewhere in the back of my mind my brain is like, Nooo why are you doing this? That part just got drowned out by the part that was all, MMMMMM HUEVOS OM NOM NOM.

I went to IHOP earlier because I was craving their Nutella crepes, right? And now they have a crepe platter, which comes with sausage, bacon, and, yes, eggs. I got my crepes and then double bacon because I'm not a big fan of sausage links, and scrambled eggs. And I ate and was happy, because the eggs were so good and so were the crepes and mmmm.

I did not think I would end up with stomach cramps for the rest of the evening.

Lesson of the story: do not trust the eggs. Ignore the part of your brain that says that something that is so tasty but bad for you is good and you will feel so much better.

Besides that: for some reason I have been listening to "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys on a semi-constant loop for the past few days. The thing is that when that song was really popular, I didn't like it very much. And now I keep listening to it and singing along to it at any opportunity and I LOVE it. Has that ever happened to you?
