Friday night, procrasturbating.
Jul. 12th, 2013 10:16 pmI saw Pacific Rim today! It was a bit different than I was expecting, but I still dug it. Like, I thought that the jaegers were going to be more from the Power Rangers/Voltron school of Gigantic Robots, and that they would be piloted by more than two people.
I might have gotten a touch misty watching Mako's memories of the attack when she was a kid. I have this thing where seeing little kids in peril freaks me out, and this little girl sobbing as she walks down an abandoned street and then runs away from a humongous monster was freaky.
The rest of my Mako and Pentacost feelings can be summarized by this gingerhaze drawing.
Go see it! It's fun and neat to look at, and there's a short post credits scene that is pretty cool.
On the real life front:
About three days of this past week was spent without AC. It went kind of bonkers on Saturday night, so we were left to melt to death on Sunday and Monday. We have a window unit that we use for emergencies, so Dad put that in the den and Mom, Pepper, and I slept in there Monday night. By the time that I got back from my class on Tuesday, the AC people had come and fixed it.
I finished my first week of math class without too much of a breakdown. We have a quiz on Monday, so I'm a little worried about that, but hopefully it'll go well. Just need to do the homework.
I've been job searching in earnest for a while, and I'm even looking at internships. I sent an email to two different companies about interning, and one asked when I was graduating, because they only offer the position for course credit. Terrific.
