enamouredHi. Long time, no post. I have some good news, though!
I took radio production back in spring of 2010, and in the class, my professor mentioned a locally based online radio station. I thought about seeing if I could get a show now and then, but never really worked up the initiative to look into it. So about a month ago, I got tired of filling out job applications and not hearing back from anyone because I had no broadcast experience besides my show on the school's radio station and everything I did for our newscast, I decided to look into this station that my prof had mentioned.
Three weeks ago, I went in to the studio to meet with the station manager and to take a tour of the place, and on Friday, I went in for my training. So on this Friday, at 11 AM, I'm going to do my first show! I'll post a link to it later, but I'm super-stoked, and in the next two days I have to come up with what I'm going to play on that first show on Friday.
